【#Vivien Yeo’s Beauty & Lifestyle】Discover 5 Effective Methods to Improve Fine Lines and Wrinkles Caused by Collagen Loss on Your Skin

【#Vivien Yeo’s Beauty & Lifestyle】膠原蛋白開始流失?皮膚開始出現法令紋細紋?改善方法5大招

As women age, starting at the age of 25, collagen production dramatically decreases, causing the skin to show signs of aging such as the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. In addition, lack of exercise or excessive weight loss can also contribute to skin laxity. Are there any effective methods to tighten the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles?

As someone who has always been interested in beauty, I have done research over the years and have come up with the following methods to share with everyone:

Method 1) Maintain a healthy diet

Diet has a significant impact on the health of our skin. It's important to consume as many anti-aging foods as possible that are rich in vitamins C, E, and collagen. For example, walnuts contain a wealth of antioxidants, particularly vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin. Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that can prevent the formation of free radicals, protect cells from damage, and help maintain healthy and elastic skin. Meanwhile, polyunsaturated fatty acids can maintain the integrity and elasticity of cell membranes, and also help keep the skin smooth and soft. In addition to the aforementioned ingredients, walnuts also contain important minerals such as zinc, copper, and selenium, which play a crucial role in maintaining healthy and elastic skin. Zinc can promote collagen synthesis and is a crucial protein for skin elasticity, while copper can promote the synthesis of tyrosine, an essential amino acid for the color of the skin and hair.

In addition, eating more deep-sea fish can effectively help the skin maintain its youthfulness and moisture. Deep-sea fish are rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3PUFA), especially EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These components can resist aging, improve skin problems, and maintain skin radiance. EPA and DHA effectively reduce inflammation and free radical production in the body, which can counteract aging. ω-3PUFA helps to maintain the skin's moisture balance, reduce skin dryness and the formation of fine lines. Deep-sea fish are also rich in vitamin D, which promotes calcium absorption, helps maintain bone health, and also promotes skin health, increasing skin radiance and elasticity and reducing the aging process. In addition, deep-sea fish also contain important minerals such as selenium, zinc, and iron, which are effective in maintaining healthy and radiant skin. It is recommended to consume more deep-sea fish such as salmon, mackerel, eel, and cod in our daily diet.

Method 2) Use moisturizing products

Maintaining the skin's moisture is one of the important factors in preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Using moisturizing products such as face cream, eye cream, and lip balm can enhance the skin's hydration, preventing dryness. Additionally, using body exfoliating products once or twice a week can help remove dead skin cells from the skin's surface, thus increasing skin radiance.

Method 3) Avoid overexposure to the sun

Overexposure to the sun is one of the main causes of skin problems, mainly due to damage from ultraviolet (UV) rays. Overexposure to the sun may cause the production of excess pigmentation in the skin by stimulating melanocytes, leading to the formation of sunspots. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to the sun can break down collagen and elastic fibers in the skin, leading to the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is important to avoid staying in direct sunlight as much as possible and to use sun protection products such as sunscreen or hats.

Method 4) Use anti-aging serum oil

After the age of 25, women's skin becomes noticeably drier and prone to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Choosing the appropriate anti-aging serum oil can help combat these issues. Daily massage or “gua sha” can improve blood circulation, clear energy meridians, and help tighten the skin, slowing down the aging process.

Facial “gua sha” can be performed once or twice a week using the following techniques:

Firstly, apply an appropriate amount of serum oil to the face and then apply it onto the “gua sha” board.

  1. Gently scrape from the nose to the temple

  2. Gently scrape from the chin to below the earlobe

  3. Gently scrape from below the earlobe to the base of the neck

Scrape each side 3-5 times, and the jawline will become clearer after a few simple steps.

To improve the problem of sagging skin on the body, massage oil can be used in combination with lifting techniques to improve skin relaxation.

Similarly, apply an appropriate amount of body oil to the hand, lift and massage the parts of the body from bottom to top for 3-5 minutes each time, once or twice a week.

Method 5) Exercise

Some busy office ladies (OL) may not have time to exercise or simply do not enjoy it, but exercise can improve the problem of wrinkles. This is because exercise can increase the body's metabolic rate, enhance skin elasticity and firmness, and promote blood circulation to increase the oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin, aiding in skin regeneration and repair. Additionally, exercise can reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, reduce the production of free radicals, and slow down the aging process of the skin. Furthermore, increasing muscle tension and exercise through physical activity can help tighten muscles and prevent skin sagging.

Exercise can help with weight loss and keeping fit, but sudden weight loss during the weight loss process can cause the loss of collagen in the skin, making wrinkles and fine lines more prominent.
